Guided Mulhacén ascent: 1 or 2 days

Choose the format that best fits your time and fitness. Both options include a certified guide, insurance and technical equipment:

  • Mulhacén in 1 day: the most direct option, ideal in summer and for fit hikers. Ascent via the south face from the Alpujarra.
  • Mulhacén in 2 days: with an overnight stay at the Poqueira Refuge or the Caldera bivouac. Better acclimatisation, a gentler pace and the starry skies of Sierra Nevada.

Routes to the summit of Mulhacén

  • From Capileira (south face): the classic Alpujarra route, the most requested.
  • From Trevélez: an alternative approach, perfect for linking with the Siete Lagunas and the Caldera.
  • From Hoya de la Mora (north face): the highest and most spectacular traverse, alongside Veleta.

How much does it cost to climb Mulhacén with a guide?

The price depends on the format (1 or 2 days), the route, the season and the group size. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and number of people and we’ll send you a tailored quote with no obligation.

Do I need previous experience for the guided ascent?

In summer, on the classic route, good fitness and some habit of mountain walking are enough. For winter ascents we cover crampon and ice-axe technique, so you don’t need prior experience: the guide trains you before and during the activity.

Can you climb Mulhacén in 1 day?

Yes. In summer it’s perfectly possible to reach the summit in a single day from the Alpujarra if you’re fit. If you prefer a gentler pace or you’re going in winter, we recommend the 2-day format with an overnight in a refuge.

What equipment do I need to bring?

Layered mountain clothing, boots, a backpack, water and food. Winter technical gear (crampons, ice axe and helmet) is included by us. When you book we send you a detailed kit list for your date.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day?

Safety always comes first. If severe weather is forecast, we let you know in advance and reschedule at no cost. Our local guides follow the mountain conditions daily.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, especially in high season and for the 2-day outings, since the Poqueira Refuge requires prior booking and we work in small groups. Contact us as early as possible to secure your place.
